Safely disposing of home-generated used sharps is important. Sharps that are not disposed of safely may cause injury. No matter where you are:
- Sharps should never be thrown loosely into the trash or toilet.
- Sharps should never be recycled.
- Sharps that retract after use, or are very small, should be disposed of like all other sharps.
