Join The Diabetes Prevention Program! 
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a clinically proven education program for people with prediabetes that will support you in making lifestyle changes that help you learn to eat healthily and exercise to lower your weight with the goal of lowering your A1C. Our 6-month program is online, and at your own pace. Throughout the online program and for 6 months after, a licensed pharmacist will be available to meet with you to support your learnings.
There is an introductory Zoom session available twice a month to learn about our prediabetes program and sign up!
All sessions will take place via Zoom every other Wednesday from 6-7PM. Please register below.

Allison Lopez, Program Coordinator

Grace Garces is a bilingual Diabetes Care Guide at the Diabetes Foundation. Grace works primarily with Spanish speaking participants to help them get the services they need.

Marlene Korngold is a Diabetes Care Guide and has been living with Type 1 Diabetes for over 30 years. Marlene’s diabetes journey started with gestational diabetes and she hoped it would go away. However, it did not and Marlene has maintained a positive and empowering attitude while coping and learning to manage this condition. Marlene has been working for the Diabetes Foundation for over 10 years as an advocate and a mentor by helping others to be able to better deal with their Diabetes.

Chris Bryant is a diabetes and kidney advocate who is passionate about raising awareness and improving outcomes for people living with these conditions. He has been living with type 1 diabetes for over 35 years and have seen firsthand the impact of diabetic nephropathy, also known as diabetic kidney disease. My goal is to empower people with diabetes and CKD to take advantage of their health and live well.

Jack Bickel has been a Volunteer and Diabetes Care Guide at The Diabetes Foundation for over nine years. Jack is extremely passionate and has made a difference in many people’s lives and helped them to manage their diabetes better.

Ken Sternfeld is a Diabetes Care Guide at the Diabetes Foundation. Ken’s brother Steven lost his battle with diabetes and the other conditions that evolved, so he has dedicated his life and his career to help others deal with the challenges and hurdles presented daily by this horrific disease. It is that commitment that motivated Ken to join the Diabetes Foundation as a Diabetes Care Guide to help those suffering live a healthier life.

Danielle Kennedy, RD, CDCES, LDN, is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes and Education Specialist (CDCES). Danielle is currently the lead diabetes educator at the Diabetes Foundation and provides personalized and curriculum-based Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support education to people living with diabetes. Danielle teaches group classes as well as one to one sessions on diabetes management, nutrition education and other areas of diabetes and prediabetes care. Danielle’s passion is educating people to help them achieve their goal(s) and improve their quality of life while living with chronic disease.

Miriam Liranzo is a bilingual diabetes educator at the Diabetes Foundation. Her background is Dietetics, food, nutrition, public health and health education. Miriam’s role is to facilitate diabetes education for patients and community members who are at risk of developing diabetes and those who are living with Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes.

Tania Milan Cruz RN, CDCES  is a Registered Nurse, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with many years of experience dedicated to the delivery of professional diabetes education that motivates and assists people with diabetes to achieve health outcome goals and improve quality of life. Tania currently is the educator of our Spanish Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Program at the Diabetes Foundation. Tania is a passionate professional with strong desire to improve outcomes for people with diabetes through education and technology.

Marianne McCormick MSN, RN, CDCESis passionate diabetes care and education specialist for the Diabetes Foundation. She provides curriculum-based Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) education to people living with diabetes.
