Diabetes Foundation Joins Embecta in Ringing Nasdaq Opening Bell
November is National Diabetes Month, a time when communities across the country team up to bring attention to diabetes. To that end, the Paramus-based Diabetes Foundation joined Embecta Corp. on Nov. 1 to ring the 9:30 a.m. opening bell at the Nasdaq stock exchange and kick off Diabetes Awareness Month across the country.
Embecta, based in Parsippany, is one of the largest pure-play diabetes care companies in the world.
Diabetes has a dramatic impact on the lives of millions across New Jersey living with the condition. This life-shattering, and potentially life-threatening, condition is projected to increase from 1 in 10 individuals today to 1 in 3 by 2050, making it a major public health challenge with far reaching implications.
The ceremony was live streamed over the Nasdaq webcam, MarketSite Tower in Times Square and participating television networks like CNBC, Fox Business News, Bloomberg TV and BNN.
