SUMMARY:"You Have Diabetes\, Diabetes Doesn't Have You" with Chris Bryant
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this virtual support group once a month to discuss issues you are having living with diabetes – with other people living with diabetes! Utilizing peer group problem-solving (asking questions\, listening to responses and having a group discussion) we will come up with personalized solutions for you. Seize the opportunity to meet others living with diabetes and talk about your personal challenges as you would talk to a friend! \nAll sessions will take place via Zoom on every 3rd Thursday from 6-7PM. A link will be sent via email prior to each session. \nAbout Chris Bryant: \nChris\, is one of DF’s Diabetes Care Guide who you may see on our Facebook Live doing “Diabetes Talks with Chris.” He is a loving husband and father who has been living with type 1 diabetes for more than 30 years. He\, like many people\, was unaware of the symptoms and complications of type 1 diabetes. He has suffered from a number complications including retinopathy and renal failure and has been treated on dialysis twice for several years. Fortunately\, he has had 3 transplants\,  including a pancreas to help him live a healthy life. He says “Diabetes has taught me the values of life and has shaped me into the person I am today. I think these difficult times have helped me understand how rich and beautiful life is.” He enjoys to help and support others living with diabetes to show them that they are not alone and that they can overcome any challenges they might have on a daily basis.
